BAB I

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Backgrounds 

A magazine is a periodical publication containing articles, stories, and so on. The main benefit is to provide information to broaden everyone's horizons. Every day we are exposed to a lot of information and are required to be critical and intelligent in choosing and using the information obtained.

 Unfortunately, the youth's interest in the media today is not information but entertainment. In fact, people are more fond of the internet and watching television than reading. The rapid growth of media in Indonesia is not equal to the increase in reading and writing skills.

Media literacy is absolutely necessary as a basic ability to think critically to live in the information age. Every day we are exposed to thousands of pieces of information. We must be selective in choosing which information we will respond to. 

Because the boundaries between true and false, valid and invalid information are increasingly blurred. We must also be smart in using information, not necessarily the information we take will make our lives better even though the information is true. this magazine is a magazine that is valuable / quality, innovates as well as inspires its readers and can entertain all circles.

1.2 Problem Statement

1.2.1 The large variety of media and low interest in reading today is a threat that can hinder the improvement of the quality of human resources and can reduce the main benefits of the media, and can increase individualism.

1.2.2 A medium for channeling expression and appreciation in the fields of writing, photography, journalism, and others.

1.3 Types of Magazines to be published

1.3.1 Informative, educational and entertainment magazine

1.3.2 Publish monthly

1.3.3 Soft reading (easy to read and educational and interesting)

1.3.4 A combination of educational news, information about the surrounding environment, accompanied by an entertainment section, with content and format that is easy to read and understand by people from all walks of life.

2.1 Vision

Become the world’s leading publisher with quality books that contribute to the advancement of civilization.

Vision being able to become a superior publisher from various aspects that support the process of developing cognition in learning.

2.2 Mision

Providing unlimited access to knowledge to the public through superior quality books.

Encouraging the growth and development of a writing cilture among the younger generation.

Presenting inspirational, enlightening, and insightful reading material.

2.3 Business Canvas

The Business canva is a method of thinking that describes. How an organization captures, designs, and delivers value. At PT Jaya Publishing, focused on impementing the business model canvas as a strategi business development for publisher and book distributors.

2.4 SWOT Analysis

S (Strength) : Have good company management.

W (Weakness) : Stores are only in big cities.

O (Opportunity): Can attract domestic writers to increase the love and interest in reading in Indonesia.

T (Threats) : Many digital books are free and can be read at any time.

3.1 CONCLUSIONS

Jaya Publishing Company has a goal, vision, and mission that enhances creativity in the community and develops businesses in the field of publishing.

3.2 Suggestion

More publishing products in Indonesia that build, create, and influence positively. This can build creativity in the nation's children.
